Material outgas refers to the emissions of gas or materials, which can occur in rubbers under vacuum or other environmental conditions. In some applications, outgassing can result in undesirable contamination. Hence, KEF provides low outgassing micro seals for applications sensitive to volatile contamination. We use select high purity materials manufactured in a class 100 clean room facility to ensure high cleanliness, and minimal contamination.

In addition to the standard compounds above, we provide custom compound to meet specialized needs. KEF has extensive experience working with rubber materials including Isobutylene-isoprene rubber (IIR), Ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), and Fluorocarbon Rubber (FKM) and therefore can produce high performing materials with specialized features. For example, we provide compounds with features ranging from maximizing gas penetration resistance, to maximizing seal longevity. We can also provide compounds free from sulfide, chloride, siloxane, and odors.
